fact about Venus

1. A day on Venus is longer than a year It takes Venus longer to rotate once on its axis than to complete one orbit of the Sun. That’s 243 Earth days to rotate once - the longest rotation of any planet in the Solar System - and only 224.7 Earth days to complete one orbit of the Sun. 2. Venus is hotter than Mercury despite being further away from the Sun Its mean temperature is 462°C. This is because of the high concentration of carbon dioxide in Venus’ atmosphere which works to produce an intense greenhouse effect, trapping heat in the atmosphere like a blanket and causing the temperature of the planet to be much higher than its proximity to the Sun would suggest. 3. Unlike the other planets in our solar system, Venus spins clockwise on its axis. All other planets spin anti-clockwise on their axis and orbit the Sun in an anti-clockwise direction. Venus also orbits the Sun anti-clockwise, but its unusual axis rotation is due to being upside down - it was knocked off its upright position earlier in its history! Astronomers believe that at some point, a colliding celestial body tilted Venus so far off its original position that it is now upside down. The only other planet to spin in a weird direction is Uranus which spins on its side, probably the result of another collision early on in its life.

what makes a kite fly

 We wrote this piece of writing together as a class. 

What makes a kite fly?

There are four forces that affect a kite when it is flying. They are gravity, lift, thrust, and drag.

Gravity is the force that keeps us on the ground. The heavier a kite is the harder it is to fly.

Lift is the force pushing the kite off the ground. Lift happens when air moves over the top of the kite at a faster speed than the air that is moving under the bottom of the kite.

The force that makes a kite move through the air is called thrust. Thrust happens with a kite when it is held in one place by its string, while the wind flows around the kite. 

As air flows over the kite the wind gets held back a little by the roughness of the fabric. This friction is called drag.

the tower

One sunny day I went on a holiday to Paris. and went to the Eiffel Tower. And it was so beautiful I couldn't wait to go up the elevator. when we got to the elevator we were up the eiffel tower and it was amazing we saw lots of people and lots of cars too. We had fun at the eiffel tower. After the eiffel tower we went to go have some ice cream. I had vanila and my mum and dad had strawberry and mint. We went back on a plane and went home. We joined our holiday and the eiffel tower too. That was amazing in Paris. M mum and dad had so much fun on a holiday plane.

Gallipoli

 We landed in Gallipoli and it was a beach. It was scary at first and it was bad. There were a lot of loud sounds and loud shot million of  people were hungry and I was hungry too. We had to build our own home for something to live in. Our whole group was cold so it was raining so we had to share. Then we all heard a sound if it was a shotgun. Some people were still asleep. We worked them up, some were scared some were tired. By the time we got there it was a clif not just any clif it was a rock cliff. There were army people thay tried to shoot us. We all took cover  and shot back; a lot of people were killed and some were alive.
